History

Founded in 1985 by Phyllis Hannan, LLTI emanated from Ms. Hannan’s fascination for lasers, which began when she attended a local trade show and realized the potential of the laser industry. Effectively aligning her entrepreneurial spirit with a dream, she began her career in the industry with a vision for the future. Ms. Hannan began her impressive career in the early 1980’s as National Sales Manager for Quantrad Corporation. It was only a short period of time before Ms. Hannan started her own laser business, Laser Mark-it, Inc., in Glendale, California in 1985, building another facility in Hermann, Missouri in 1992. In 1996 Ms. Hannan was awarded the Small Business Person of the year for the state of Missouri and went on to win the same award for the entire country; allowing her the opportunity to meet with President Clinton. (This award is presented annually by the SBA and combines businesses from all industries.) She also received the Small Business Award for Outstanding Achievement from the Governor of Missouri.
